Why the corrupt Portuguese police, prosecution, government, business and media will never find what happened to Madeleine McCann without Scotland Yard taking complete control of the investigation

The USA Weekly News has openly stated on the front page of their Website in the last two years that corrupt government officials, powerful corrupt media, powerful people and organizations in Portugal have wrongly and unjustly deliberately put the focus and blame on the McCanns

The USA WeeklyNews openly stated on the front page of their Website in the last two years that corrupt government officials, powerful corrupt media, powerful people and organizations in Portugal have deliberately put the focus and blame on the McCann
family rather that looking for the real person or people that kidnapped Maddy McCann in Portugal on the 3rd May, 2007. The USA WeeklyNews has stated publicly for two years that there are glaring similarities to the Lindy Chamberlain case. where an Australian
Dingo ran off with her baby, and she was accused, charged and found guilty for murder
 of her own
child and was sentenced to a long jail sentence along with her husband, only later to be acquitted after is was shown on appeal that the police, and the prosecution on behalf of
the Northern Territory Government falsely made out that car paint in the Chamberlain's
car was the baby's blood. Why would the Government, the Northern Territory media,
police and prosecution conspire like this to pervert the course of justice and jail two innocent people.. The answer is simple.....if it was publicly believed that an Australian Dingo in the
Northern Territory stole the Chamberlain's baby this would have a very negative effect
on tourism in the Northern Territory, which in the long tern could mean the loss of billions of tourism dollars to the Norther Territory...yes it is all about money....the case is the
same in Portugal, which has become a favorite place for British young families to
holiday in Portugal bringing in billions of tourist dollars each year to businesses and the government of Portugal... if it was publicly believed that there was a kidnapping of a
young child in Portugal, then this could mean the loss of billions of tourist dollars to Portugal.. again... it is all about money...they are not worried about an innocent child
Maddy McCann, and her grieving parents Kate and Gerry MCCann, and the rest of the McCann family and friends who all love Maddy and want Maddy home.. so naturally the Portuguese Government, the Portuguese police and prosecutions and the powerful Portuguese media all joined forces to place public blame on Kate and Gerry McCann,
rather than doing everything in their power to find Maddy McCann and the real
kidnappers. Reading through all the reports available it is obvious the Portuguese police
in charge of the case do not care a dam.. and all they were interested was in their long food and drinking lunches and seem the type of police to be be capable of being corrupt, who would accept bribes from large kidnapping syndicates who are paid a fortune for a
child like Maddy as a kidnap to order by a billionaire couple who have no child.. it goes
on all the time in the world .. to deny this happens is the same as believing in fairies in
the garden... this is the real world..the USAWeeklyNews supports the latest demand
from the McCann Family as reported in Britain's Sunday Express on the 8th November, 2009 that Scotland Yard have been asked to reopen and take control of the investigation to discover what happened to Madeleine McCann.. It has become blatantly obvious that unless the full resources, expertise and wide reaching contacts of Scotland Yard are brought in to take over the investigation into the disappearance of Maddy McCann,  the investigation will be left to a corrupt and/or incompetent police, prosecution, media and government in Portugal, who have no vested interest whatsoever to prove that there is
a criminal element in Portugal running around stealing young children for order, who are
well protected by powerful police and prosecutors in exchange for bribes... it is simply
in their interests to leave it open for the public to falsely believe that it could have been
the McCanns that accidental killed their own child and tried to cover it up...there has
been no evidence whatsoever produced to support this false claim and the McCanns
have had trial by media, which all started with the Portuguese police, prosecution,
media and government perpetuating these false rumours for their own personal gain,
rather than concentrating their efforts on looking for the real person or people that kidnapped Maddy McCann in Portugal on the 3rd May, 2007. The USA WeeklyNews
has stated publicly for two years that there are glaring similarities to the Lindy

have been asked to reopen and take control of the investigation to discover what happened to Madeleine McCann.

Scotland Yard asked to reopen Maddie Case to help find Madeleine McCann
From Britain's Sunday Express on NOVEMBER 8, 2009
republished in the public interest of Finding Madeleine McCann
Calls for Scotland Yard to step in after police in Portugal fail to take the latest appeal
for information seriously.
Scotland Yard should be brought in to take control of the investigation to discover what happened to Madeleine McCann. Kate and Gerry McCann want the Yard's renowned
kidnap team to assess an avalanche of new information after last week's emotional Internet appeal, which generated five million hits from around the world. Portuguese
police, the Sunday Express can reveal, have failed to set up a new phone line for
callers to ring with information, Last night there was fury over the dismissive response. Interpol and Europol are among 163 forces worldwide that have committed to help with
 the appeal.
Portugal's Policia Judiciaria is still in charge of the Madeleine case because that is
where Madeleine McCann disappeared over two years ago.
It would say only that is credible information comes in by fax, letter or email, it would be passed to senior officers if it was deemed "significant".

There were also reservations last night about, Leicestershire Police, who are aiding the investigation from the United Kingdom because the McCanns live in their catchment
area, at Rotherly.
Last night former Scotland Yard chief Dai Davies said it was time to let the Yard take
 it over.
The former royal protection head said: Madeleine is a British subject ans she deserves
the best, which the Yard can provide.
It is time to out any daft police protocols to one side and get on with the job of finding
Madeleine. It is a solvable case.
" It is astonishing and disgraceful that the Portuguese have not assigned a specific
team to scrutinise leads which could provide a breakthrough in the world's biggest child abduction case.
"It is frankly outrageous that the parents of this poor child should be hiring private detectives to conduct an investigation which should have been taken on by the Yard
 in the first place.
"The Yard has a kidnap squad with a brilliant success record, and access to the best Holmes computer technology, forensics and investigative techniques in the world."
Holmes, which stands for Home Office Large Major Enquiry System, is a
state-of-the-art data system designed to deal with the huge volume of information
major crimes generate. Sources claimed last night that Leicestershire defectives have
not been inputting all their information on Holmes.
Police forces across Britain have cracked scores if tough cases using the sophisticated system to highlight suspects and analyse the value of leads.
No one was available at Leichester Police yesterday to confirm or deny the claims.
On Tuesday, Kate and Gerry, both doctors aged 41, made new television appeals via
the UK Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre.
They urged "Let's hope and pray this message reaches those who know who took
Madeleine and they find the strength to do the right thing."
On Friday, a Leichestershire Police spokesman said any new information from the
VEOPC initiative would be passed on to the Portuguese who would consider credible
lines of inquiry.
Requests from the Portuguese to carry out new inquiries in the UK would be
 co-ordinated by Leicestershire Police.
New images of Madeliene, who would now be six, were shown in a video, One showed
how she might appear if her skin had darkened and her hair had been dyed brown to
make her look like other children if she is being held in Morocco or Tunisia.
Another time generated image showed how she might look now with her natural blond colouring if she in northern Europe.
While Kate and Gerry Mccann believe Leicestershire detectives have worked hard,
they feel Scotland Yard's experts on kidnap, forensics and offender profiling could bring much needed impetus to the inquiry.
Their spokesman Clarence Mitchell conceded the situation in Portugal was "frustrating"
but said they had been assured by the Policia Judiciaria that any new leads would be
acted on.
Madeleine vanished aged three from the family's holiday apartment in Praia da LOz on
the Algrave on May 3rd, 2007.

UK Police chief hits back at Portuguese detectivces's claims
THE head of Leicestershire Police has rejected claims from former Portuguese
detective that his officers withheld a witness statement from the Madeleine McCann inquiry.
Chris Eyre, the Temporary Chief Constable, said, "I can assure you that at no time
were statements withheld and not passed on."
Goncalo Amaral, the Algarve detective who as removed from the inquiry early on,
made his claim in a book, which is now banned.
Mr Eyre respeonded after Freedom of Information requests were submitted by the Sunbday Express.
A team of Lecestershire family liaison officers went to Portugal on May 5th, 2007 to support the McCanns.
It has also emerged that the Foreign Office has withheld details about the investigation
so as not to damage relations betweenb Britain and Portugal.
An individual submitted Freedom of Information requests to get details of negotiations
by John Buck, Britain's former ambassador to Portugal.
The then Information Commissioner Richard Thomas refused in case it caused
Portugal to lose trust in Britain's discretion.

Thank You Everti=on 22nd Septmber, 2009

This is a heartfelt note to say a very big thank you to all at Everton Football Club and all of their fantastic supporters. To see so many fans wearing a Madeleine t-shirt was an incredibly uplifting (and emotional!) sight – such invaluable support and an amazing show of solidarity.

Regardless of tonight’s result against Benfica, you have made one family very proud and have made a special and significant impact on the search for a very precious little girl.

On behalf of Madeleine and all of her family, thank you so much. We are very proud to be Blue!

General Update

13th September, 2009

At the start of August this year, our investigators appealed to the general public for more information following a credible account by a witness. This related to a lady acting suspiciously in Barcelona on the 7th May 2007 in the early hours of the morning. Our investigators received approximately 1000 emails and phone calls following this appeal and have been busy working through this information. Thank you to everybody who passed information on to our team. We would like to encourage anyone who may still have potentially relevant information to come forward. It is important to note that although the witness thought that the woman in question may have had an Australian accent, it is possible that this may not be the case.

At the end of August, we learnt of the discovery of JayceeLee Dugard, 18 years after she was abducted at the age of 11. There was nothing new here for Gerry and I, as we have been told of many cases of missing children who have been found years after they were taken from their families. It is important though, as it emphasises yet again how vital it is to never give up on missing children and how criminal and unjust to assume they are no longer alive. A missing child cannot be expected to find their way home, we need to find them. It is tragic and heartbreaking to think of the life which has been stolen from Jaycee and her family. We hope and pray that they will be able now to find the happiness and peace that they all deserve.

Last week, a judge in Portugal decided to pass an injunction against Goncalo Amaral's book and documentary in which he insists that Madeleine is dead and implies that Gerry and I were somehow involved in her disappearance. Nothing can be more soul-destroying for a parent than for somebody to ‘write off' your missing child (for whatever reason) without any evidence to support such a theory. The anguish and torment that we have suffered as a result of Mr. Amaral's unfounded claims and actions has been immense, compounding the pain and sadness we feel every day without Madeleine in our lives. Madeleine deserves so much more than treatment like this. She is still missing and we will never give upon her.

It is important to remember that the good people far outweigh the bad, even though those with cruel intentions can bring you down. Every day we still receive a small bundle of supportive letters to our home and kind messages via the website, as well as positive words from passers-by. Aftera ‘not so good' day, it is this kindness and solidarity that lifts us up and keeps us going. To those people, we are so grateful and we will never forget the great benefit of simple human kindness.Thank you from all our family.

Mr Amaral's Book & dvd banned by court order 9th September 2009

" We are pleased with the Judge's decision today preventing further distribution and sale of Mr Amaral's book and dvd -'The Truth of the Lie'.

Mr. Amaral's central thesis has no evidence whatsoever to support it. To claim as he did, that Madeleine is dead,  and that we, her parents, were in some way involved with her disappearance, has caused our family incredible distress and it continues to do so.

Without doubt, Madeleine will have suffered as a result of the negative effect this book and dvd will have had on the search for her.

Sean and Amelie need protection too from such awful claims.

Hopefully this injunction today will go a long way towards reducing further unnecessary and unjust distress to us all and allow people to concentrate completely on what is important - finding Madeleine. "

The Finding of Jaycee Lee Dugard in the USA 27th August 2009
"Once again - this shows that children can seem to disappear off the radar, only to be found years later alive. It emphasises that we should never assume that someone is not alive without any evidence to support this - we should never give up. This case only makes us more determined to find Madeleine. She is somewhere and somebody knows where.
Our thoughts and best wishes are with Jaycee and all her family for a happier and peaceful future."

'Madeleine Foundation' 18th August 2009
We do not wish to dignify the actions of the so-called ‘Madeleine Foundation' with any response. We do feel it is important, however, that the general public are made aware that the ‘Madeleine Foundation' has no connection whatsoever with our family or those helping us to find Madeleine, including law enforcement agencies or child welfare NGO's (non-governmental organisations). We also strongly believe that the actions of this organisation do not have Madeleine's best interest at heart; if anything, the organisation is hindering all our efforts to find Madeleine and achieve justice.

Madeleine McCann - New Information Appeal over "Australian" Woman 6th August 2009

A witness has come forward to give the investigators currently searching for Madeleine McCann new information about a suspicious incident that took place in Barcelona in the early hours of May 7th 2007 - just over 72 hours after Madeleine was abducted whilst on holiday in Praia da Luz in Portugal.

The 41-year-old British witness was attending a party with a group of other men in the area of the Port Olimpic Marina in Barcelona. It is a busy location that is popular with both tourists and local people. The group had been visiting a number of bars and restaurants in the marina area on the evening of the May 6th 2007 and into the early hours of May 7th 2007.

At around 2.00am on May 7th, the witness became aware of a well-dressed woman, who he describes as appearing agitated. She was seen in the area of the El Rey De La Gamba restaurant-bar for some ten minutes, walking up and down.

The witness got up and walked towards the woman and had a short conversation with her. This conversation was potentially significant to the investigation. However, for strict operational reasons, the investigators will not be divulging any details of what was said to the witness.

It is as a result of this conversation that the investigators now want to trace the woman, who they believe to be possibly Australian.

Following the conversation the woman sat down in another nearby bar. A further person from the same party group also saw her there. At this bar the woman had a heated discussion with someone in what seemed to be fluent Spanish.

The woman was last seen walking away in the direction of a local hospital and the more distant ferry and cruise ship terminals.

The woman is described by the principal witness as follows:

White

Aged 30 to 35 years

Slim build

Short brown hair

Approximately 5"2 tall

Wearing expensive looking blue jeans and a jersey top, possibly pastel colour

Her build equated to a size 10 dress size.

The witness described her as "a bit of a Victoria Beckham look-a-like". She spoke English with what the witness has described as "possibly an Australian" accent.  The investigators now hope the international media, in particular Australian and Spanish broadcasters, will help to distribute the attached e-fit of the woman, which has been prepared by a police artist, as widely as possible.

The British witness does not wish to be identified publicly. The investigators have already conducted some preliminary inquiries in the vicinity of the Port Olimpic Marina and are continuing to liaise with relevant police forces where necessary.Anyone who may know the woman should contact the Madeleine McCann investigation team on

General Update 19th June, 2009

There has been much reported in the media recently about Raymond Hewlett. As far as our investigators are aware, there is no evidence to link him to Madeleine –he is a person of interest to the inquiry rather than a suspect. Following the sensationalised reporting in certain sections of the media with regards to Mr Hewlett, our investigators wished to interview him in order to eliminate him from the inquiry. Despite our investigators requests via Mr Hewlett’s lawyer, their attempts to conduct an interview were unsuccessful as we were simply unwilling to pay. It is very disappointing that certain elements of the media felt it appropriate to pay a convicted paedophile (whether that be directly or indirectly) in order to obtain a ‘story’, whilst those people who are qualified to carry out such enquiries and who are genuinely looking for Madeleine were unable to do so.

On a more positive note, we have recently been planning a summer campaign in the hope that holiday-makers, travel companies and transport agencies will help us again in our search for Madeleine. So far, things are looking promising and we will soon have ‘travel packs’ available via the website for anyone willing to help in this way. We greatly appreciate the continued help and support we are receiving from the general public. It’s incredibly reassuring and uplifting that over two years down the line so many people still want to help. Without doubt, it will increase our chance of finding Madeleine.

On Tuesday evening, we took part in the Rothley & Soar Valley Lions 10K road race here in the village. Twenty of us (family and friends) wore our Madeleine t-shirts and that together with cheers of encouragement from spectators, made it all worthwhile. It was a really enjoyable evening and a fantastically well-supported event. We’re already talking about next years run! Hopefully we wont be needing to wear our t-shirts for that one.

General Update May 2009

May is obviously a difficult month for us now, with the anniversary of Madeleine's abduction as well as Madeleine's birthday. Despite this, it has also been a positive month in several ways, with many people once again offering their support and showing great kindness.

On May 3rd, there were special church services for Madeleine - here in Rothley, in Liverpool and in Praia da Luz. Each of these services was very well attended and described by those there as being very beautiful. In addition many other masses and prayers were offered for Madeleine on this day throughout the UK and beyond. It is a great comfort for us as a family to know that Madeleine remains so strongly in people's thoughts and prayers.

On May 8th, Bishop Ellis Primary School (‘Madeleine's school') held an ‘Auction of Promises'. This was a well supported and really fun night, with over £6000 being raised for Madeleine's Fund. Well done and many thanks to everyone who helped make this evening a success! During the same weekend, many runners taking part in a 10K race in Liverpool wore Madeleine ‘Don't Give Up On Me' T-shirts and again a substantial amount of money was raised for the fund. Thank you! Keep going everyone - it all helps.

Following on from the Cutting Edge documentary and reconstruction -‘Madeleine was here' - shown initially in the UK on May 7th, we have had many calls and emails coming in to our investigative team. We are really pleased with the response and currently all pieces of information are being prioritised and followed up as necessary. Again, thank you to everyone who has had the courage and compassion to come forward and pass on their information. It may only take one call or one email to unravel this ‘puzzle', end the nightmare and hopefully bring our Madeleine home.

On Tuesday May 12th it was Madeleine's birthday. She is now 6 years old. We had a small birthday party with close family and a few of Madeleine's friends. She deserves to be celebrated. Hopefully next year she'll be here to blow out her birthday cake candles herself. Madeleine's grandma and grandad, and great aunt and uncle spent a few days at the shrine in Fatima over the period of Madeleine's birthday and the feast of Our Lady of Fatima. They described it as a very moving experience and a good and comforting place to be at such an emotional time.

Thank you again to everyone for continuing to support us during these difficult times- for all the ‘well-wisher' cards, letters and flowers, as well as the birthday cards and gifts sent for Madeleine. Despite the sadness of our situation, we are very aware that we are incredibly lucky to have such kind and invaluable support. Thank you.

Kate and Gerry McCann and their children to sue Goncalo Amaral 16th May 2009

  • Kate and Gerry McCann - together with their three children - are to sue the former Portuguese police officer Goncalo Amaral over his continuing, grossly defamatory claims that Madeleine is dead and that her parents were somehow involved in concealing their own daughter's body.

In a statement, Kate and Gerry McCann said: "We - together with our three children Madeleine, Sean and Amelie - are taking this legal action against Goncalo Amaral over his entirely unfounded and grossly defamatory claims - made in all types of media, both within Portugal and beyond - that Madeleine is not only dead, but that we, her parents, were somehow involved in concealing her body.

  • "This decision has been taken to prevent any further publication of Goncalo Amaral's deeply offensive book "The Truth Of The Lie", his so-called television ‘documentary' and any repetition of his disgraceful thesis that we are somehow involved in the disappearance of our much loved daughter, Madeleine.

"The primary reason for our legal action is simple: to stop any negative effect that these absurd and deeply hurtful claims may be having on the ongoing search for Madeleine. We can no longer stand back and watch as Mr Amaral tries to convince the entire world that Madeleine is dead. Nor can we allow this blatant injustice to Madeleine, with its obvious risk of hindering our attempts to find her, to continue.

"Mr. Amaral's entirely unjustified claims have not only brought indescribable devastation and suffering to our lives, they have hugely compounded the already immense pain and anxiety we have endured since Madeleine's abduction.

"Our three children are joint complainants in this action because of the detrimental effect Mr Amaral's continued assertions will undoubtedly have on their future lives. Sean and Amelie require protection as they prepare to start school this autumn. Madeleine requires protection from those who are obstructing the possibility of her being found."

  • Reconstruction update 15th May 2009
  • There has been a huge response to the reconstruction shown on May 7th and we thank you for all the information recieved. Our investigation team are working through all this information and they will  recontact where it is necessary to obtain further information.

  • If you have contacted us through the anonymous message board and are happy to be contacted please pass your information to investigation@findmadeleine.com

Once again thank you for not giving up on Madeleine.

On Sunday 3rd May 2009
Everton and Sunderland Football Clubs kindly helped us -once again - to remind everyone about Madeleine and the fact that she is still missing. The football community as a whole has helped us hugely over the last two years and we are so grateful for this show of support and solidarity across all clubs and colours. It is incredibly uplifting to have so many supporters with all the passion and pride they display, standing by Madeleine and willing her home. Thank you!

Press Release 23rd March, 2009

On the 3rd May 2007, 3yr old Madeleine McCann was abducted from the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz. Since then, despite extensive enquiries Madeleine is still missing.

It is almost two years since Madeleine McCann disappeared and there is good reason to believe that she is still alive. Madeleine's family and friends will never give up hope.

At the time of Madeleine's disappearance the emphasis was placed more on international appeals and it has been recognised that the local Portuguese residents of Praia da Luz and the surrounding areas have never been properly asked about information they may have to give.

The purpose of the current campaign is to do just that; ask the local Portuguese residents for information to help to find Madeleine.

Experience shows that the crucial answers are in the immediate vicinity. Someone in the area could almost certainly have the vital information that could help Madeleine's return to her family, or a combination of people all coming forward with a single piece of information could piece together vital clues which could solve the disappearance.

Experience also shows that people almost always confide in someone else. Someone in Praia da Luz may have been given information that should be passed on and now is the perfect opportunity to do just that. If anyone has information of any kind, do the right thing and pass it on so that Madeleine McCann can go home.

The campaign is about finding Madeleine. Her family hope and believe that local residents can be a very real help. It goes without saying that they would forever be indebted to anyone who had that vital piece of information.

Over the next couple of weeks in the Lagos and Luz areas residents will see posters, billboards and advertisements. Leaflets will be distributed in towns and local markets and there will also be a mailing sent to local homes appealing for help.

It should be stressed that any information given will be treated with the utmost confidence. Information can be given anonymously by telephone, email, text and freepost.
