    Is the Mortgage Bubble Popping?
    Michelle Singletary

With all the recent news about mortgage foreclosures and the possible end to easy credit, I hope you will join me today at noon ET for a chat with author and director James D. Scurlock. As the featured author for the March Color of Money Book Club selection, he will answer questions or take comments about his movie and book, "Maxed Out: Hard Times, Easy Credit and the Era of Predatory Lenders."

If you can't join me live for the chat, submit your questions early or check out the transcript.

It's interesting to read all the Monday morning quarterbacking going on about who's at fault for the rise in foreclosures. For example, is it the Federal Reserve's fault?

    PAPER IT
Wallpaper is peeling off its dowdy, dowager image with a raft of new looks from popular chains such as Restoration Hardware, Anthropologie and Pottery Barn.

The virtues of wallpaper are that it can architectural interest to a featureless room and can help hide damaged walls or structural imperfections. There are enough choices to please any personality with offerings that include large-scale graphics, metallics, bamboo, grass cloth, leather and linen. You can paper all four walls and the ceiling or just one wall or the inside of a closet. And if you don't like it, it's not with you for life. Many new styles (like those from Restoration Hardware, Anthropologie and Pottery Barn, whose offspring PBteen is launching beach-themed paper for summer) feature non-woven backing, which means easy removal.

    COOK IT
I love my salt and pepper. My oil, too. But if I had to dash away with only one ingredient to help me cook, it would be, hands down, the lemon.

The little ol' lemon, that staple of the household cleaning world found in soaps, detergents and furniture polish that we all take for granted, is also a culinary powerhouse. It is modest yet strong, assertive yet understated, and a hero when you really need one in the kitchen.

I always have at least one lemon on hand -- and not just for an impending cold. If you don't already own a zester (a mere five bucks), do yourself a favor and pick one up, zest up a lemon and just take in the aromatherapy. You can thank me tomorrow.
